Het geslacht Vergeet-mij-nietje (Myosotis) telt enkele dozijnen soorten. De naam Myosotis komt van het Grieks en betekent muis-oortje (mus + otis). Vergeet-mij-nietjes komen voor in Europa, Azië, Afrika en Australië. Dit kleine prachtige blauwe bloemetje met geel hartje is een echte voorjaarsbloeier. Ze bloeien lang en al vroeg in het seizoen. Zaaien in de volle grond of op zaaibed. Dun uitzaaien in de nazomer, als de planten groot genoeg zijn, uitplanten op plaats van bestemming. Hoe vroeger ze op de vaste plek kunnen doorgroeien, des te beter komen ze door de winter. Leuk in combinatie met bollen.
