Black Russian is een vrij compacte plant, oogstbaar na ca.75 dagen. De donker mahonierode vruchten van ca. 100 gram hebben een bijzondere smaak, namelijk zoet/zuur met een wat pittig aroma. Hoge gezonde antioxidatieve eigenschappen. Black Russian minder dieven als andere gewassen voor hogere opbrengst. Teelt in de kas, aan draad, geeft de beste resultaten.
