Een klimplant met dicht loof en grote blauwe bloemen met een platte kelk, die geelgroen opengaan en geleidelijk van mauve naar blauwpaars verbloeit. ’s Avonds verbreiden jonge bloemen een eigen geur, die later verdwijnt. Zaaien onder glas in potten of zaaibakken. Na opkomst verplanten, slechts een plant per grote pot. Op een zonnige, beschutte plaats op het zuiden zetten.
