De echte kamille heeft een vrij sterke geur en bevat veel etherische olie. De bloemen oogsten bij zonnig weer en goed laten drogen. Van de gedroogde bloemhoofdjes kan thee worden getrokken. Kamille wordt gebruikt als rustgevend middel bij slapeloosheid en ontstekingen. Zaaien in de volle grond op regels. Zaad niet bedekken, maar even goed aandrukken. Kan ook uitstekend in potten worden gekweekt.
