Deze succulente eenjarige produceert in de zomer bloemen in oogverblindende kleuren. Bij bewolkte hemel blijven de bloemen gesloten. Heeft vlezig groen blad overdekt met glinsterende cellen. Zaaien onder glas, in de volle grond of in potten. Dun uitzaaien en de zaden heel fijn bedekken. Vraagt een zonnige standplaats, des te meer zon, des te rijker de bloei. Bodembedekker.
