Een knapperige sla met een uitstekende smaak en zeer decoratief. Bevat veel vitamine C, calcium en ijzer. Geeft al vroeg grote kroppen. Kan over een lange periode worden geteeld en schiet niet snel. De kroppen zijn gekoeld lang houdbaar, ook in gesneden vorm. Zaaien vanaf februari onder glas en vanaf half maart kan ter plaatse op de tuin worden gezaaid. Ruim uitdunnen en bij droog weer voldoende vochtig houden. Sla kan al bij zeer koele temperaturen (> 10°C) worden gezaaid.
