Duitse Tijm, Wintertijm
Meerjarige plant. Tijm Duitse Winter bloeit in de volgende jaren in mei en juni met lila of roze, soms witte bloemen. Tijm heeft een verwarmende werking, is zeer aromatisch en ondersteunt de vertering van voedsel. Blaadjes en takjes kunnen meegestoofd worden bij vleesgerechten en meegekookt bij zware groenten. Gedroogd behoudt tijm ook z’n sterke aroma. Wil graag een zonnige, droge en kalkrijke standplaats. Wintertijm is duidelijk beter bestand tegen lichte vorst dan zomertijm.
