Brandende Liefde ScharlakenRood (Lychnis)
De Silene Chalcedonica, in Nederland beter bekend als de zogeheten Brandende Liefde, is een Meerjarige plant uit de Anjerfamilie. De bloem staat bekend om zijn intens rode bloemen, vandaar dat de Nederlandse naam ernaar vernoemd is. De brandende liefde is afkomstig uit Rusland. Het is onder andere een zeer degelijke snijdbloem en een populaire borderplant/ De plant is eenvoudig om uit zaden op te kweken. Gemakkelijk te kweken winterharde plant met frisse groene bladeren en in de vroege zomermaanden trossen van opvallende rode bloemen. Ze zijn zo fel Rood, dat de buurplanten met zorg moeten worden uitgekozen. Geschikt voor perken, borders en achtergrondbeplanting. Bij voorkeur direct op plaats van bestemming zaaien. Dun uitzaaien en zo nodig nog uitdunnen. Bloeit in het 2e jaar.
