De beste variëteit voor potcultuur. Bolvormige planten met klein, pikant geurend blad, onder handbereik op de vensterbank. Basilicum is vooral bekend als een heerlijk keukenkruid, maar heeft ook een medicinale functie. Zaaien onder glas, zaden niet bedekken, licht aandrukken en vochtig houden. Als de plantjes voldoende groot zijn uitplanten in potten en bakken of op een warm plekje in de volle grond. Lekker in o.a. salade, pasta en pesto.
