Polvormige plant uit de bergen van Europa die van eind voorjaar tot midden zomer mooie grote bloemen voortbrengt, met geel hart. Het mengsel bestaat over het algemeen uit blauwe tinten en wit. Een populaire, winterharde rotsplant. Zaaien op zaaibedje of zaaibakje, later verspenen en als redelijk stevge plant op plaats van bestemming uitplanten.
