Een oranjegele bes, lekker fris zoet/zuur van smaak en vol vitamine C. Als de lampion grauw van kleur wordt vindt u binnen in de geeloranje bes. Geeft al heel vroeg vruchten en daardoor, zelfs in de slechtste zomer, toch veel smakelijke bessen per plant. Laat de vruchten indien rijp op de grond vallen. De lampion beschermt de vrucht enige tijd. Voorzaaien onder glas en na opkomst verspenen, afharden en uitplanten, bij voorkeur op een wat beschutte, warme plek.
