De kroppen zijn gekoeld lang houdbaar. Zaaien vanaf februari onder glas en vanaf half maart kan ter plaatse op de tuin worden gezaaid. Ruim uitdunnen en bij droog weer voldoende vochtig houden. Sla kan al bij zeer koele temperaturen (> 10ºC) worden gezaaid.
