Ge?ntroduceerd in 1800. Fraaie grote oranje-rode, geribde vruchten met oranje vruchtvlees. Goed bewaarbaar. Prima geschikt voor consumptie, maar dan duidelijk sneller oogsten. Zaaien onder glas in bakje of direct in grote bloempot. Uitplanten na half mei als er 4 echte bladeren zijn. Pompoenen zijn zeer gevoelig voor nachtvorst. De plant heeft veel mest, vocht en warmte nodig. Groeit daarom uitstekend op een compost- of mesthoop. De ranken afsteken als ze te lang worden.
